Les Saintes
By Sharon Lam
Bonne lecture!
AHOY, Sailors! Sharon checking in and steering the Lilla Støv blog for a bit.
Îles des Saintes… Where do I even begin? Îles des Saintes has this dreamy way of blending French charm with Caribbean ease, like a postcard that decided to become real life. The islands are tiny and the water is so clear you can literally see the sunlight dancing on the sand below, and the beaches look like they were painted with the softest pastel paint palette.
Scooters and golf carts are everywhere, in fact it’s the main type of transportation for a tourist like me. They’re constantly zipping around like little dragonflies, giving the whole place this carefree, summery soundtrack. And tucked between the bright coloured houses and breezy streets, you’ll find “tourment d’amour,” a sweet coconut tart that tastes like a hug you weren’t expecting but definitely needed.
Evenings settle in with warm golden light, and everything slows down in that cinematic way where you suddenly notice every color, every breeze, every quiet moment.
Îles des Saintes isn’t loud about its beauty—it just exists softly, effortlessly, and completely steals your heart in the process.
Îles des Saintes doesn’t just welcome you… it flirts with you. You step off boat and the islands give you that slow up-and-down like, “Hey. You’re cute. Wanna forget your responsibilities?” And suddenly you’re blushing at the ocean waters.
The breeze brushes past you like it knows exactly what it’s doing, the sun hits you at your best angle without even trying, and every beach looks like it’s been waiting just for you to show up.
By the time you’re supposed to leave, Îles des Saintes is there like, “Stay. I wasn’t finished charming you.” And honestly… you’re tempted.
